| Ganja La pass requires sufficient utilities and
equipments as for 3 nights journey there
are no tea house facilities; you have to
sleep at tented camp. From the pass the
views across the valley to the peaks of
the Langtang Himal are particularly
marvelous. You can see far distance
Shishapangma, the only 8000 meters peak in
Tibet. After crossing this pass we reach
Tarkeghayang, the largest settlements of
Tamang people in Helambu. The trek passes
through some beautiful forests and
interesting villages on route meeting
homes of Brahmins, Tamangs and Sherpa
people of Nepal. This place has scenic
majesty and pleasant climate as well as a
long history of Buddhism culture and
ancient tradition of Tamang and Sherpas.

ITINERARY

Day
01: Early morning drive to Saybrubasi-overnight
Day
02: Saybribasi-Lama Hotel- Trek along the Langtang khola (river),
consists mainly of scrub oaks at the
bottom of the high Rocky Mountains. From
Bamboo lodge, where we take lunch, the
ascent continues to a steel suspension
bridge at 2000m then further climbing
along side a series of waterfalls and
finally reaching Rimche. From here the
trails descend gently to Lama Hotel, at
2380m.
Day 03: Lama
Hotel – Langtang Village
The trail traverses up and down through
the forest and reach Ghoratabela within 3
hours. From there, again a short climb for
½ hours will bring us to a pass to the
right, where the Langtang valley begins.
Day 04: Langtang
Village – Kyanjin Ghompa- From
Langtang there is a gentle ascent for 4
hrs to Kyangjing Gompa

05: Kyanjin Ghompa
acclimatization day
Day
06: Kyanjin Ghompa – Nenang-
This is the first day from Kyanjin Gompa
so we will not hike long. The Ngegang
(4000) is the only last good place to camp
where we will camp.
Day 07: Nenang-
Crossing Ganja La pass– Keldang
Today the trail is steep to climb
towards the pass at 5106m. After crossing
the pass the route descends to a small
stream at 4400m. Following the stream for
few hours we reach at keldang (4,280m.)
where we will stop to camp.
Day
08: Keldang – Dukpu-
This is a very long walking day toward the
summer settlement of Dukpu (4080).
Day
09: Dukpu – Tarke Ghyang-
From Dukpu the trail descends along the
ridge and then climb to the pass. From
here you can see the views of Dorje Lakpa
and some peaks of Khumbu regions. Now with
a plain walk we move through the pine and
rhododendron forests then finally we reach
to Tarke Gyang village (largest
settlements of Tamang in Helambu.
Day
10: Terek Ghyang – Sermathang-
From Terke Gyang we will walk on
a gradual flat trail to attractive village
of Gangjwal(2500m) where we stop for
lunch. After the lunch the trail is quite
easy, it continues at around the same
altitude along the side of the ridge,
crossing a number of streams in the heart
of Helambu region. Then we reach at the
edge of the large village of Sermathang
(2620m). There are some old gompa and
Langtang National Park Office. Stay
overnight at Sermathang.
Day
11: Sermathang – Melamche Bazzar-
From Sermathang the trail
follows the ridges passing shorter and
drop to the tiny pretty village of Kakani
situated on the ridge. This is a wonderful
place for splendid mountains views where
we will stop for our lunch. From Kakani
the trail traverse several picturesque
small villages and drops to Melamchi Pul
Bazaar about 3 hour where we can have
lunch. Malamchi Bazaar has a collection of
shops and teahouses and abundant lodges
Day
12: Melamche Bazzar –
Kathmandu- Drive to Kathmandu by
bus (4 hours) drop to hotel.
Extend trip:
You can extend other programs such
as hotel booking, Kathmandu city tours
Chitwan wildlife safari, river rafting or
any others you have in mind.

Depends on size of group, type of trek mode of
transportation

Fitness require: This trek involves strenuous level trekking and
requires 5-7 hours walking per day uphill
and downhill frequently. You need to be
physically fit and willing to accept high
pass.
Note: Ganja
– La pass is the connection between
Langtang and Helambu. For 3 to 4 days
there are no facilities so we have to be
fully equipped with sufficient food etc.
The views of the valley and the peaks at
the Langtang Himal are particularity
beautiful to watch.
