Annapurna Region
The
Annapurna region lies toward the north of
central Nepal and is known to be the
world's best trekking trail with
recognition of the survey by Modern
Maturity USA. An Annapurna trek offer more
versatile varieties in comparison to any
other walks of equivalent length, and

of every nature ever to be found in any
other trails in Nepal. The panoramically
inclined views of Great Annapurna and

5416m. Pass, (Thorong La) to cross.

physical fitness.
The Gateway
to Annapurna trekking region is the famous
city Pokhara. The most prominent ethnic
groups of Annapurna are Gurungs and
Thakalis. Animals found here are Pika,
blue sheep and Himalayan Tahr while the
vegetation consists from the range from
tropical species to temperate forests of
Oak, beech and rhododendron.
The most
popular trekking route of this region are
Annapurna circuit, Jomsom Muktinath,
Annapurna base camp, Annapurna foothills,
Gorepani Poon hills, Dhaulagiri round,
Upper Mustang, Sikles, Mardi Himal
leading towards Royal trek, Panchase trek
(sites with less traffic of tourists).
The best time to trek is during autumn and
spring. Unlike other parts of Nepal, even
monsoon season are ideal to visit upper
Mustang that falls in the rain shadow
area. Most trekking trails in this region
have tea houses facilities. However, they
are very basic in terms of service and
provision.
